the Commercial & Flat Roofs We Install

EPDM is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) widely used in low-slope buildings in the United States and worldwide. Its two primary ingredients, ethylene and propylene, are derived from oil and natural gas.

Ballasted EPDM Roof

A ballasted EPDM roof is a roofing system where an EPDM membrane (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) is laid loosely and then held in place by a layer of ballast, typically stones or pavers. This system is known for its durability, ease of installation, and cost-effectiveness

Mechanically Fastened EPDM Roof

A mechanically fastened EPDM roof secures the EPDM membrane and underlying insulation to the roof deck using plates and fasteners. This method is cost-effective, durable, and suitable for various wind uplift requirements, particularly in re-roofing applications. However, it can be prone to fluttering or ballooning in windy conditions and may reduce insulation efficiency due to the mechanical fasteners serving as thermal bridges.

Full Adhered EPDM Roof

The fully adhered application is an extremely secure EPDM rubber roofing installation method. The technique bonds the rubber membrane and insulation boards to the roof deck using water-based bonding adhesive, providing unparalleled wind resistance and stability.

PVC

PVS (polyvinyl Chloride) is a single-ply white membrane used in both commercial and residential roofing. Due to the membrane being white, it reflects heat instead of absorbing it. PVC is a great option if you have a flat roof over a living space because it will keep the room below cooler. It is also a great optioni over non-living spaces like a garage or covered patio.

TPO

TPO, or Thermoplastic Polyolefin, is a popular single-ply roofing membrane known for its durability, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. It’s commonly used on commercial buildings and is gaining popularity in residential applications due to its ability to withstand weather conditions and provide a watertight seal. TPO is generally less expensive than other single-ply roofing options like PVC.

When you’re looking for specialized installation for something like built-up roofing, we’re the right company to call. This heavy roofing style requires experienced experts.

The Benefits of Commercial flat Roofs

1. Durability

Flat roofing materials like EPDM, TPO, and PVC are known for their long-lasting performance and resistance to various weather conditions. They can withstand extreme temperatures, UV radiation, and other elements, making them a durable choice for commercial roofs.
Flat roofing offers a wide range of material options, including rubber membranes, single-ply systems, and metal roofing, allowing for tailored solutions to meet specific project requirements. This versatility allows for easy integration with other elements like rooftop gardens, solar panels, and other additions.

3. Cost-Effectiveness

Flat roofing can be a more cost-effective solution, particularly for commercial buildings, especially when compared to traditional sloped roofs. This can be attributed to the simplified installation process, less labor-intensive materials, and potentially lower material costs.

Frequently asked questions

Commercial roofs are crucial for protecting buildings and their contents from weather, ensuring the safety of occupants, and maintaining the structural integrity of the building.

Commercial roofs are often larger and more intricate than residential roofs, requiring specialized knowledge and skills for proper installation and maintenance.
A wide range of materials are used, including metal, modified bitumen, PVC, and TPO membranes, each with its own strengths and suitability for different applications.
Commercial roofs typically last 20-30 years, but regular maintenance is essential to extend their lifespan and prevent costly repairs.
Proper commercial roofing can lead to significant savings in energy costs, reduced maintenance expenses, and a longer lifespan for the building.
Features like light-colored roofs, insulation, and efficient roofing systems can contribute to lower energy consumption and reduced cooling costs.
Improper installation can lead to leaks, insulation issues, and structural damage, highlighting the importance of hiring experienced professionals.
Coating systems can be a cost-effective alternative to full replacement, extending the life of the roof by up to 10-20 years.
While both protect from the elements, commercial roofing involves larger scale projects with specialized needs, materials, and construction techniques.
